Discover the ancient art of clay works in our 6-week Handbuilding Foundations class. Designed for beginners, this course will guide you through essential handbuilding techniques, including pinch pots, coiling, and slab construction. You will delve into surface decorating/layering/blending methods to add your own artistic expression to each unique piece. As well, you will learn how to prep for firing and glazing techniques.
Whether you're new to pottery or looking to refine your skills, this class offers a supportive and cheerful environment to explore your creativity and build a solid foundation in the craft of handbuilding.
Week 1: Pinch Pots
Week 2: Coil building
Week 3: Slab
Week 4: Slab and surface decorating
Week 5: Combined techniques and exploration
Week 6: Prep for firing and underglazing etc

Medium: Clay
All supplies included. If you wish to ‘go big’ and use more than the allotted clay included for the course you are welcome to purchase additional clay from the studio.
