supplies list

Speedball Lino Carver: A set includes 1 handle and various carving nibs. If you purchase the handle separately, we recommend grabbing #1, #2, and #5 size cutters.

Sheets of linoleum: Available in various sizes. . For this class we will be using the soft lino options which are called Speedball Speedy cut (in beige) or Speedy carve (in pink).

Water-based Speedball inks: Choose your favorite colours or the three primary colours to mix. We recommend also buying one white tube to achieve different tints in your colors.

Watercolor or Printmaking paper: Recommended minimum size: 9x12. Bigger pads of paper allow room for play. Look for paper that is on the thicker side so that it can absorb the ink, but with “low tooth” (That means smooth). Ask an employee for help if needed.

Metal spoon (optional, will go over in first class).

All tools and items listed will be discussed in class so don’t worry if you have questions or are unsure. When you are shopping, don’t be shy to ask the employees at the art shop for advice – they are your local experts
