A variety of paints your choice either Acrylics or Water Mixable Oils. Brands I recommend: Indigo, Winsor and Newton or Cobra for Water Mixable oils and Acrylics. Golden and Liquitex are lovely, but fairly expensive. Choose a range that is affordable to you. Liquitex do a basic student range, as does Opus art supplies.

•Phalo (optional)Mediums for water Based oils: Linseed or Stand Oil. Ensure you get the ones for Water base oil and not the mediums for regular oil paints. Winsor and Newton do good value mediums (they have purple labels to differentiate them from the regular oils).
NOTE: We are not permitted to use white spirit or turpentine in the studio for health and safety reasons.
3. Drawing Materials
Conte sticks (black) an eraser, soft pencils, (Optional: chalk pastels or oil pastels)
a large pad of newsprint paper and a pad of watercolor paper
Cotton rags, masking tape
Canvases or alternative papers can be bought between week two and three. We can discuss
your needs individually and decide which would be best to purchase or if you already know the
scale and surface etc you want to work on by all means purchase them before.
4. An inexpensive set of paint brushes /canvases to paint (chat with the instructor in the first two classes to find out best size canvases for your paintings )
Palette Paper Pad: large size (12x16 inches) or smaller
